

Though Ruby will counter will ultima if hit by KOTR head on-so you can paralyze it momentarily with the item 'Dazers'. The most reliable way to take down Ruby weapon is via Knights of the Round via w-summon, and then having your party members mimic that for maximum damage. (I believe around 30+ turns?) Don't bother attacking the tentacles and simple focus everything on Ruby to avoid this disaster.


Even once you revive your characters back, it won't use its whirlsand move again unless the tentacles go down or a certain amount of time passes in the fight. Once the tentacles are up, you're safe to revive your party members back with Phoenix summon or something. There's all kinds of strategies depending on your party and what tactics you have available to you-so I can sort of offer some general tips that might help you plan out the best course of action to take against it!įirst of all, to avoid the whirlsand move from taking your party members away, start the battle with just one character alive-this will force Ruby to put its tentacles up right away, as it only uses the whirlsand move when more than one party member is active.
